"My biggest takeaway from my time as a plant-based yoga and meditation enthusiast is that optimal health and well-being are part of a collective effort to harmonize the mind, body, and soul." - Paige Putnam
I first started taking yoga classes from Molly before she started her own company. So I’ve been part of the Challenge to Change community since I was about eight years old!
Molly was my first yoga teacher, and it was in her kid’s yoga classes that I first learned about mindfulness.
I loved the emphasis on mindfulness and how it was incorporated into each class through fun activities.
I remember reading Moody Cow and learning to make meditation jars and little gratitude boxes.
I’ve taken each lesson I learned during these classes and used them in my life to become a present, happy, and mindful person.
Around the same time I began learning about yoga, mindfulness, and meditation from Molly, my family adopted a plant-based lifestyle.
What really sparked my passion for plant-based eating was knowing that I was making a difference for the animals and the environment.
Meet Paige and Beth, hosts of the Plant-Based Cooking Series!
But quickly, I became more interested in the health and well-being side of this lifestyle.
Two years into my plant-based journey, when I was 10 years old, I became certified in plant-based nutrition through the T. Collin Campbell Center for Nutrition Studies at Cornell University in New York.
I even became the youngest person to earn this certification!
Since then, I have created a business, Plant-Based Paige, and published my first cookbook, Plant-Based Snacks, Apps, & Desserts.
My biggest takeaway from my time as a plant-based yoga and meditation enthusiast is that optimal health and well-being are part of a collective effort to harmonize the mind, body, and soul.
That is to say, you must combine eating well, moving your body, and practicing positive and mindful activities to feed your soul, like meditating or spending time outside.
Typically, you cannot simply do one of these things and expect to achieve your best health and well-being.
If you are at the beginning of your health and wellness journey, I encourage you to start slow so you’ll be more likely to continue.
However, this doesn’t mean it has to be all or nothing!
I like to focus on bringing more good things into my life and letting negative things fall away.
That’s why I’m thrilled to share this Plant-Based Cooking Series with you!
